November 2026 in Macau.

The Grand Prix takes over the streets, the Food Festival opens in the middle of race weekend, and the weekends either side are stacked with a beach festival, craft markets and two big orchestral finales. If you only come to Macau once this year, come in November.

Why November is Macau's biggest month

Every city has one month when everything lands at once. Macau's is November. The 73rd Macau Grand Prix, the biggest weekend of the year, runs 19 to 22 November, and the 26th Macau Food Festival opens on the Friday of race weekend and stays for 17 days. Around those two anchors, the calendar fills in: a beach festival in Coloane the weekend before the racing, the last nights of Oktoberfest at MGM, craft markets on both Grand Prix weekends, the closing concerts of the Macao International Music Festival and a film festival that runs into December. The events calendar has the full picture; this page is the month, week by week.

Week one, 1 to 8 November: beer tents and a quiet holiday

Oktoberfest Macau at MGM closes out its 16th edition in this first week. The beer tent is on the MGM Cotai 1/F roof terrace, 6pm to midnight daily until 8 November, with German bands, traditional costumes and Bavarian food. On its November dates, admission is MOP 180 including one standard drink, entry only with no seating and no minimum spend; children aged 9 or below get in free without a seat. If you want a table zone, those carry separate per guest minimum spends, so book ahead.

One date to note rather than plan around: Monday 2 November is All Souls Day, a public holiday in Macau. It is a religious and family observance, not a visitor event, so expect locals to have the day off and treat it as a quiet start to the month.

The Macao International Music Festival is also running through this stretch, on its way from 2 October to a 29 November finish, and the outreach programme for hush! runs across the city and in schools from 1 November. The beach weekend itself lands in week two.

Week two, 9 to 15 November: the beach weekend

The warm up for Grand Prix week is hush! Beach Concerts x Urban Sports Wellfest 2026, on 14 and 15 November at Hac Sa Beach in Coloane. Jointly organised by the Cultural Affairs Bureau and MGM, this year's theme is "Energy Island": seven themed zones including the Hot Wave main stage on the sand, a Music Chill lawn stage and the hush! Market. Admission to the main event is free; some activities need registration in advance. Free shuttle buses run to the beach from Iao Hon Market Park, Fai Chi Kei, Taipa Central Park and MGM COTAI, with transfers from MGM COTAI shuttles at the entry points except Qingmao Port.

Prefer a concert hall that Saturday? On 14 November, Mozambican singer Stewart Sukuma performs with the Macao Chinese Orchestra at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, part of the Encounter in Macao festival programme. Two very different Saturday nights, one at each end of the city. Our Macau sports calendar tracks the hush! weekend and the rest of the month's sport.

Midweek, 16 to 18 November: the calm before the engines

The 8th China and the Portuguese-speaking Countries Film Festival opens on 16 November at Cinematheque・Passion and runs to 7 December. The theme is "Resonance of Light and Shadow", with nearly 30 works from China and the Portuguese speaking countries and regions. Screening and ticketing details were still to be announced when we checked, so look for the programme closer to the date. Then, on Thursday, the barriers go up.

The big weekend, 19 to 22 November: Grand Prix, food and crafts

The 73rd Macau Grand Prix runs Thursday 19 to Sunday 22 November 2026 on the Guia Circuit, the street circuit threaded through the peninsula. The FIA has confirmed capacity entry lists for the three World Cups that headline the weekend: Formula Regional, GT and Formula 4. The Kumho FIA TCR World Tour also finishes its season here, in the Guia Race. It is the fullest and loudest four days of Macau's year. Start with our Grand Prix guide, then the ticket guide for stands and prices.

On tickets, go in with your eyes open. Grandstand seats are MOP 100 on Thursday and Friday and MOP 400 to 1,200 across the weekend, depending on the stand. As of 17 October, the official MacauTicket listing showed Sunday 22 November sold out in the Grand Stand and Reservoir Stand, with only Lisboa Bend reserved seats (MOP 1,200) remaining, so if the final day is the one you want, move quickly and do not leave it to race week. Buy only through authorised channels; unofficial resellers surface every year.

From Friday 20 November, the evenings belong to the 26th Macau Food Festival at Sai Van Lake Square, beside Macau Tower. Around 150 local food and beverage businesses set up for a 17 day run to 6 December, organised by the United Association of Food and Beverage Merchants of Macau. Entry is free; you pay per dish at the stalls. Hours are 4pm to 11pm Monday to Thursday and 3pm to midnight Friday to Sunday. The full vendor list has not been announced yet, so hold off on planning specific dishes. Our Food Festival guide tracks what is confirmed.

Also on all four days, the Tap Siac Craft Market fills Tap Seac Square: handmade goods, snacks, workshops and live music, free to enter. Hours are 5pm to 10pm on Thursday and Friday and 3pm to 10pm on Saturday and Sunday. It is the calm counterpoint to the circuit, a short wander from the grandstands.

If you only have one weekend

Make it Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November. No other weekend in the year gives you the Grand Prix and the Food Festival opening in the same three days, with the craft market on top. Arrive on the Thursday or early Friday, take the racing on Friday and Saturday, the days with seats still on sale, and spend your evenings grazing Sai Van Lake Square. The trade off is real: this is the busiest and priciest weekend of the month, hotels go early and the peninsula gets congested. Book the room first, then the tickets, then everything else.

Week four, 23 to 29 November: the connoisseur's week

Missed the racing? This is the week locals would pick. The Food Festival runs on to 6 December with the race crowds gone, and the Tap Siac Craft Market returns for its second block, 26 to 29 November, same square, same hours, free entry.

The 38th Macao International Music Festival then closes in style. On Saturday 28 November, Tan Dun conducts the China National Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in "Tan Dun Conducts Beethoven's Ninth and Nine" at the Macao Cultural Centre Grand Auditorium, pairing Beethoven's Symphony No. 9 with his own work Nine. On Sunday 29 November, "Tan Dun Conducts Mozart and Beethoven" opens with the Overture to The Creatures of Prometheus and features local string players Nina Wong and Yan Lok Hoi in Mozart's Double Concerto for Violin and Viola. Tickets are sold through Enjoy Macao Ticketing. The festival guide has the full programme.

And the film festival keeps rolling through all of it, to 7 December at Cinematheque・Passion, an easy evening plan for the nights between concerts.

Planning notes

Hotels go first. Macau sells out for Grand Prix weekend and rates peak across 19 to 22 November. If those are your dates, book the room before anything else. Where to stay for the Grand Prix covers the peninsula and Cotai options; the general hotels guide covers the rest of the month.

Roads close around the circuit. The Guia Circuit is made of public streets, so expect closures and diversions around it on all four race days, and check how your hotel handles access before you arrive. Build extra time into any cross town trip that weekend, and use the same patience on Food Festival evenings, when race crowds and food crowds share the same corner of the peninsula.

Book ahead, then relax. Grand Prix tickets, a Grand Prix weekend room and Tan Dun tickets are the three things worth locking in early. Almost everything else this month, hush!, the craft market and the Food Festival, is free and walk up. If you are building a trip around the month, the trip planner turns your dates into a day by day plan, and the dining guide covers where to eat beyond the festival stalls.
