Ferries: Hong Kong to Macau
The two high-speed ferry operators both sail from the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan. TurboJET serves both the Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal (Macau peninsula, near the historic centre) and the Taipa Ferry Terminal (near the Cotai Strip). Cotai Water Jet sails to the Taipa Ferry Terminal, the closest landing for the Cotai Strip resorts. Both offer QR code boarding: book online, scan your phone at the gates, and skip the ticket counter.
Book at least one hour before departure. Ferries suspend at Typhoon Signal 8 or above. Full operator comparison, fares and terminal details in our Macau ferry guide.
Cross-border coach
Prefer to stay on land? Direct coaches run between Hong Kong and Macau across the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge, a useful backup when ferries are suspended in bad weather.
