01
TurboJET
The classic crossing, running for over 50 years. TurboJET sails from the Hong Kong–Macau Ferry Terminal in Sheung Wan to two Macau terminals: the Outer Harbour on the peninsula and Taipa beside the Cotai Strip. It's the only operator serving the Outer Harbour, which makes it the one for the historic centre, Senado Square and the Ruins of St. Paul's.
Three classes: Economy from HK$194 weekday daytime (HK$212 weekends and holidays, HK$242 at night), Super from HK$406, Premier Grand from HK$545. Rated 4.7 from 28,000+ reviews on its booking listing, with 1M+ bookings.
02
Cotai Water Jet
The Sands' own ferry, sailing Sheung Wan to Taipa only. The terminal sits beside the Cotai Strip resorts, so if you're staying at the Venetian, Parisian, Londoner or Galaxy, this drops you closest. Two classes: Cotai Class from HK$192 weekday daytime (HK$209 weekends, HK$242 at night); Cotai First on the upper deck with wider seating, complimentary drinks and snacks, and priority disembarkation.
Rated 4.8 from 17,800+ reviews on its booking listing, with 800K+ bookings.

Which terminal do you want?
This is the decision that matters. Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal is on the peninsula, minutes from the historic centre, Senado Square and the Lisboa-area hotels. Taipa Ferry Terminal is beside the Cotai Strip and the big resorts. Pick the ferry that lands where you're staying: TurboJET serves both, Cotai Water Jet serves Taipa. The full route comparison, including the bridge bus and helicopter, is in our getting there guide.

Booking and boarding
Tickets are sold per sailing, so you book a specific departure time. Weekend mornings and Sunday-evening returns to Hong Kong sell out, book those ahead. Online bookings come with instant confirmation and a QR code you scan straight at the boarding gates, no ticket counter queue.
At the terminal: Hong Kong exit immigration, then airport-style security, then boarding. After landing in Macau you clear arrival immigration. Bring your passport, it's a real border crossing in both directions. Allow 30 to 45 minutes for the whole terminal process. Luggage: 20 kg per person included on TurboJET (more in higher classes).
Fares above are the April 2026 revised tariffs; the live listing governs. Ferries suspend when the typhoon signal reaches 8 or above.
