Motorsport

The Grand Prix and karting

Macau Grand Prix: 19–22 November 2026. The 73rd running on the 6.2 km Guia street circuit, headlined by the FIA Formula Regional World Cup with FIA GT, Formula 4 and TCR support races. It is the biggest sporting week of Macau's year. Hotels sell out months ahead. 2026 ticket sales had not been announced as of 20 September 2026; when they open, official sales run through macau.grandprix.gov.mo and the Kong Seng / Macau Ticketing network.

Where to stay for the Grand Prix

Karting. The Coloane Karting Circuit hosts the FIA Karting Asia-Pacific round each September. It's a look at the junior ladder that feeds series like the Grand Prix.

Golf

Watch the Open, play in Cotai

SJM Macao Open: October. Macau's long-running professional golf tournament, played at the Macau Golf & Country Club in Coloane. A genuine tour-level field on a clifftop course, and one of the calmest big-event atmospheres in the city's calendar.

Play it yourself. Visitors can book Macau International Golf in the Cotai entertainment area. A Par 71 links-style championship course about 15 minutes from the airport, with a practice facility attached. An easy add-on to a golf trip built around the Open.

Marathons, match racing, beaches

Sailing. The Macao Match Cup opens the World Match Racing Tour season each January in Macao Harbour. Elite match racing, viewable from the waterfront.

For self-powered adrenaline between events, the Macau Tower bungy, Skyjump and Skywalk run year-round.

Plan it

Make a trip of it

Sport is the reason; the trip is the reward. Base yourself on the Cotai Strip for the arenas and golf, or on the peninsula for the Grand Prix circuit. See the hotels guide. A pre-booked private transfer from the airport skips the taxi queues on event weekends.
