Macao International Fireworks Display Contest: the 4 October finale
One night left. The contest closes on Sunday 4 October: Philippines vs United Kingdom at 9:00pm and 9:40pm over the sea in front of Macau Tower, followed by the contest's first-ever closing drone finale around 10:00pm. Free to watch from the waterfront. Full fireworks viewing guide.

The reimagined aquatic spectacular at City of Dreams mixes acrobatics, dance and water effects in a purpose-built theatre. It's the one big-ticket show you can reliably book in advance, with seat-tier options on Klook.

National Day holidays: 1 & 2 October
The 77th anniversary of the PRC falls on 1 October, with the day after (2 October) also a public holiday. Expect mainland visitor peaks, plus the fireworks contest finale on the 4th. Book hotels early.

Macao International Music Festival: 2 October to 29 November
Two months of classical and traditional music: 10 programmes, a music camp and 12 citywide activities. The lineup includes a Brazilian programme for the China-Brazil Cultural Year, Lang Lang, Tan Dun, the China National Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, the Zhejiang Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe, and Turandot directed by Jackie Chan, his directorial debut.

NBA China Games: 9 & 11 October
The Dallas Mavericks vs Houston Rockets play two preseason games at the Venetian Arena (presented by Taobao 88VIP). It's the NBA's return to Macau, now a recurring fixture. Two weekends of Portuguese-speaking-world food, music and community pavilions at the Taipa Houses. Macau's Lusophone heritage on show. Exact 2026 dates had not been announced as of 20 September.

Oktoberfest at MGM: 28 October to 8 November
Macau's big Bavarian fortnight: the giant beer tent returns to the MGM Cotai roof terrace with German bands, traditional costumes and Bavarian food, 6:00pm to midnight. Party sets by Cantomania on 30 and 31 October.

Halloween: Studio Creepy 3, weekends from 9 October
Studio City's Halloween horror run: an immersive cinematic escape through special-effects makeup, mechanical installations and interactive gameplay, every Friday to Sunday until 22 November. Standard tickets MOP 144.

73rd Macau Grand Prix: 19 to 22 November
The headline act on the 6.12 km Guia street circuit: the FIA Formula Regional World Cup (third year, new Gen2 Tatuus T-326 cars), the FIA Formula 4 World Cup, the FIA GT World Cup with a new Silver Cup for emerging drivers, and the TCR World Tour. The 73rd edition is listed on the official Kong Seng / Macau Ticketing network (19 to 22 November 2026): grandstand tickets from MOP 100 on Thursday–Friday, MOP 400–1,200 for the weekend depending on the stand, on sale from 12:00 PM on 9 October 2026. Trip.com also carries an official 73rd-edition event listing (19–22 November 2026), with tickets on sale from 9 October 2026. See our ticket sale guide for the full price list. Macau Food Festival: 20 November to 6 December
Seventeen days and around 150 local food and drink stalls beside Macau Tower. It's the tastiest fortnight of the year, opening right on Grand Prix weekend. Entry is free; you pay for what you eat. Full 2026 guide.

Organised by IEEM and Creative Macau (founded 2010 as the 'Sound & Image Challenge'): a week of short films across city venues.

The winter light festival returns: projection mapping, lighting, decorative and interactive installations across multiple districts, free and running nightly from about 6pm to 10pm through the holidays. Full 2026 guide.

Macao International Marathon: 6 December
Marathon, half marathon and mini marathon, starting at the Olympic Sports Centre and crossing the Nobre de Carvalho and Sai Van bridges past A-Ma Temple. One of Asia's oldest city marathons (running since 1981). Registration is open now, first-come first-served. Full 2026 guide.

The 10th International Film Festival & Awards Macao (first held 2016) is expected in December, and the Macau International Kart Grand Prix returns to the Coloane karting circuit. Exact dates for both had not been announced as of 20 September.

Chinese New Year: 6 February 2027
New Year's Day falls on Saturday 6 February 2027 (Eve Friday 5 February), the Year of the Fire Goat. Macau marks it with parades, fireworks and festivities across the city. It's one of the busiest and priciest fortnights in Macau's calendar, so book hotels and transport early. Parade dates for 2027 had not been announced at the time of writing. Full 2027 planning guide.

Lusofonia Festival exact dates, IFFAM 2026 dates, the Macau International Kart Grand Prix 2026 dates and a UFC Macau date had not been announced as of 20 September 2026. Art Macao is a biennale and held no 2026 edition (last: July–October 2025); the next is expected in summer–autumn 2027. 2027 arena concerts had not been announced.
