The calendar

The fairs and expos that anchor it

MIF: Macao International Trade and Investment Fair. Held annually since 1999, MIF is Macau's marquee trade event: a multi-day fair connecting businesses across China, the Portuguese-speaking world and beyond. It is a fixture on the city's business calendar.

G2E Asia. The Asian edition of the gaming industry's leading expo, held in Macau, naturally. Equipment manufacturers, operators and technology providers exhibit alongside a conference programme.

BEYOND Expo. Macau's international technology and innovation expo, covering everything from AI to life sciences. It's part of the city's push to diversify beyond gaming.

Forum Macao. The Forum for Economic and Trade Co-operation between China and Portuguese-speaking Countries is headquartered in Macau, and its ministerial conferences bring government delegations from across the Lusophone world to the city.

Where it all happens

Cotai Expo at The Venetian Macao is one of the largest integrated convention and exhibition spaces in Asia. It's the default home of the city's biggest trade events. MGM Cotai and Wynn Palace both operate full conference centres aimed at high-end corporate meetings and private forums. The Macao Science Center, with its distinctive conical architecture, hosts tech summits and academic events. The United Nations University's institute in Macau also convenes policy and research events in the city.

The practical argument for Macau is straightforward: venues, hotels, dining and entertainment are concentrated in a compact area, so delegates can move between a morning session and an evening event without leaving the Strip. Logistics

Getting delegates there, and keeping them

Most delegates land at Macau International Airport or fly into Hong Kong and cross via the Hong Kong–Zhuhai–Macau Bridge. A pre-booked private transfer meets arrivals and goes straight to the Cotai Strip. Simpler than briefing a hundred people on ferry terminals.

Bleisure sells the trip. Delegates increasingly extend a conference stay by a day or two: the House of Dancing Water, teamLab SuperNature and the Cotai shows are all minutes from the venues. An attraction pass bundling 2–4 sights on one booking works well as a suggested add-on in a delegate welcome pack.

For group accommodation, start with the hotels guide: the Venetian, Parisian, Londoner and Galaxy put delegates on the Strip, minutes from Cotai Expo.
