Morning
Daytime bliss: spa and wellness
Start with the pampering. You will appreciate it more before the heels go on.
Banyan Tree Spa Macau (Galaxy Macau, Cotai). The nature-inspired flagship: bamboo groves, indoor ponds, and full-body massages and facials in private villas. Published rates for 60-minute massages sit around the MOP 1,200 mark. Confirm at booking.
Mandarin Oriental Spa Macau. A quieter, refined choice with sauna, steam room and an indoor pool in the wet facilities. Signature massages are published around MOP 1,300 per hour. Confirm at booking.
Morpheus Spa at City of Dreams. Futuristic Zaha Hadid-designed setting, Finnish sauna, steam room and vitality pool. Signature massages published around MOP 1,380 for 60 minutes. Confirm at booking.
Book spa appointments at least a week ahead for weekends. And check Klook and Trip.com first. The same spas frequently sell vouchers there for well under their published rates. See our hotels guide for booking links.
Afternoon
Lunch, sightseeing and shopping
Lunch in Taipa Village. The food streets around Rua do Cunha are made for a long, grazing lunch: Macanese, Portuguese and Cantonese side by side. Do not leave without a warm Portuguese egg tart.
Heritage hour. The Ruins of St. Paul's, Senado Square and A-Ma Temple are the essential trio, and they photograph beautifully in late-afternoon light. Comfortable shoes matter: Macau's cobblestones and hills are unforgiving in heels. See the attractions guide for the full list.
Shopping. The Cotai Strip's malls (The Venetian, The Parisian, Londoner) run the full luxury spectrum if retail therapy is on the itinerary.
Evening
Dinner and a night out
Dinner. For a splurge, Mesa by José Avillez at Grand Lisboa Palace serves refined Portuguese cuisine in a striking Karl Lagerfeld-designed room; Don Alfonso 1890, in the same resort, does polished Italian. Expect roughly MOP 400–1,200 per person at the high end, depending on menu. Confirm at booking. Macau's dining scene, from Michelin stars to egg tarts.
Nightlife. Macau's clubs and rooftop bars cluster around Cotai's resorts. Many run ladies' night deals, typically midweek, with discounted or complimentary drinks; check current listings before you go, as promotions rotate. Dress codes are real: smart dress, no sportswear.
The morning after. If the night runs long, Macau has you covered: including hotel spas open until the small hours. Our sister guide covers late-night and 24-hour massage in Macau.

Tips
Tips for the trip
Book spas and popular restaurants at least a week ahead, more for holiday weekends. Use the free hotel shuttles between Cotai resorts and the ferry terminals. They run constantly. Taxis are inexpensive for the old town, where shuttles do not go. And keep the camera ready: Macau is relentlessly photogenic, from spa sanctuaries to the Strip at night.
